And now, a word from our feelings!

It’s been a pretty interesting couple of months.  It started with a very unexpected and last minute move out of the house I’ve been renting for the last 12 years.  It was something that we had been planning on doing within the next 6 months because we’re trying to buy a house.  But we were planning on doing it on our own terms, not to be pushed into it so suddenly.  We had to pack an entire house up, try to find somewhere to move that was pet friendly, and actually move in 30 days.  Thankfully, my brother came through with a place to live, and Shereens mom has been looking after our dogs since there’s already 5 cats here.  Now we’re just trying to get our mortgage situation re-situated because I went and quit Papa John’s not knowing that they have to have a two year period of employment somewhere to be considered for the loan.  So now we’re hoping that Shereen’s credit is good enough to be approved, albeit for probably a smaller amount.

During the final week of moving out of the old house and into the house with my brother, our Grandmother passed away.  So we had all the things going on related to that.  It was, however, very nice to see some of my aunts, uncles, and cousins that I don’t hardly get to see because they live other places.  Just unfortunate of the situation that it took to get us all together.  After we had visitation and the funeral at St Ann’s, we had a nice little luncheon in one of the big rooms with the family.  Later that evening a bunch of us gathered at the Downtown Market.  We went to one of the places inside called the Social Kitchen.  Among the many things that stand out in that place, the widely open and viewable kitchen.  Well, it’s not really open, but you can see in because the walls are glass.  Or Plastic.  But either way you can see through and see what’s going on in the kitchen.  Of course, because I always sit with my back to the walls so I can see all the people everywhere and what’s going on around me, I sat with my back to the kitchen so I couldn’t watch what was going on.  The food was very good.  Appetizers were amazing, and I ordered the pizza (of course) as my entree.  I thought it was pretty good, but it was called a “Spicy Pepperoni Pizza”, and I was a little disappointing with the amount of pepperoni that were on it, and that the pizza wasn’t, in fact, very spicy.  It came with pepperoni and some sort of spicy / tart little round peppers that I’ve never seen before.

I turned 40 on December 4th.  I don’t really “feel” 40.  There are signs all around me, like, you know, the number 40.  Or perhaps that my kiddo is gonna be 18 in April.  So far I feel young at heart, and it’s not bothering me all that much.  I’d like to drop a few pounds to be a bit healthier but that’s about it.

My Grandpa on my mom’s side died last week.  His visitation is going to be Wednesday night, and Thursday morning before the funeral.  I won’t be able to make the Wednesday viewing because of work, but I’ll be there for everything else.  I’m glad that we were able to get up there (Muskegon) to see him a few times in the last couple months.  I don’t make it up there as much as I’d really like, under normal circumstances.  Such is life I suppose though.

So ya, things have been tough a little bit.  But thankfully, I have a great support system in my family and friends.  Thanks guys.  Anyways, I’m gonna cut this short.  I haven’t posted anything much lately so I wanted to get this posted just to kind of update people on what’s been going on with me.
