So i picked up the latest CD, “21“, by Adele on Amazon.com the other day. And, I must inform you that at your earliest connivance you should go out and purchase this CD. I’ve been listening to it non stop for several days now. Probably almost a week. There are so many good tracks.
It has the singles “Rolling In the Deep”, “Set Fire To the Rain”, and “Someone like you.” All three are GREAT tracks, with “Set Fire To The Rain” being my favorite, but the CD also has some hidden gems. “One and Only” has a very strong Blues / Soul feel to it, along with “Don’t You Remember”. “Rumor Has it” has a very interesting off beat type sound to it, reminiscent of something from hits of yesteryear, while “I’ll Be Waiting”, also has a upbeat tempo, and unique sound. “Turning Tables”, and “He Won’t Go” are ok, leaving “Take It All, and “Lovesong”, as my least favorite of the album.
Her vocal style is amazing to me, and not since Christina Aguilera’s “Stripped” CD, or Alanis Morissette’s “Jagged Little Pill” and “Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie”, have I been so entranced by so many songs. Somebody at work asked me who was better, Adele or Christina, and I had to think for awhile, because I don’t think the answer is able to be given right away. They both have amazing voices. I think Christina has a higher range, but Adele has that gritty sound that’s just entrancing.
Anyways, enough about that CD. My weekend was quite enjoyable. Mikayla came over Saturday night after I got out of work. We camped out in the living room, and watched IronMan and ate Hot Dogs that I grilled. Lots of fun.
Sunday we slept in, and then had a late lunch. After that we went and did laundry at “Sit-N-Spin”, and then went to see “Hunger Games”. That was a pretty good movie, although afterwords I had to ask Mikayla a couple questions about what certain things meant. I might have to read the series now. She has all the books, so I will probably borrow them from her.
After that I dropped her off and came back home. Today was meetings, New Employee orientation, and then I closed the shop down.
As such, its been a bit of a day, so I’m going to head to bed.
