STO: Advanced Odyssey Cruiser(s) Stats and Info

So as you are reading this article you’ve probably already completed “The 2800” series on Star Trek Online.  If you were like me you gushed and or squee’d in excitement when the Enterprise came warping in to assist you in cleaning up the remaining ships.  So, lets take a look at the details of this new ship that is going to be available on the C-Store.

Firstly, the +1 version is going to have three different versions.  The shared base stats for all three ships are as follows:

Hull Strength: 42,000
Maximum Warp: 9.996
Turn Rate: 6
Impulse Modifier: 0.15
Shield Modifier: 1.15
1 Ensign Universal, 1 Lieutenant Commander Universal

So, now on to the fun part.  Each version of the ship (Engineering, Science and Tactical) offer a unique ability, and when combined offer a ever better ability, but more on that later.

Lets start with the engineering or “Command” Cruiser.

Odyssey Operations Cruiser:
The Odyssey Operations Cruiser features a bonus engineering console slot (for a total of 10 console slots). It comes equipped with a Chevron Separation universal console module. This console allows you to separate your Odyssey’s chevron saucer and stardrive sections. The saucer will follow you and attack your targets. You pilot the stardrive section, which gains a boost to weapons power and increased speed and maneuverability.

Now, the Science Cruiser:

Odyssey Science Cruiser:
The Odyssey Science Cruiser features a bonus science console slot (for a total of 10 console slots), as well as the Sensor Analysis ability typically only found on science vessels. It comes with a Work Bee universal console module. This console allows you to deploy four Work Bee CMU (Cargo management Units). Work Bees are small construction and repair crafts that will follow and repair your vessel or your ally’s ship.

And finally, the ship closest to my heart, the Tactical Cruiser.

Odyssey Tactical Cruiser:
The Odyssey Tactical Cruiser features a bonus tactical console slot (for a total of 10 console slots). It comes with an Aquarius Escort universal console module. This console allows you to separate the aft mission pod of your ship which will deploy an Aquarius Escort. The Aquarius Escort is a small powerful attack craft that will follow you and attack your targets. It comes equipped with Quad Phaser Cannons, Phaser Turrets, Quantum Torpedoes, and a Point Defense System.
Stats:
Weapons: 4 Fore, 4 Aft
Device Slots: 4
Console Upgrades: 3 Tactical, 4 Engineering, 3 Science
Bridge Officer Stations: 1 Lieutenant Tactical, 1 Commander Engineering, 1 Lieutenant Science, 1 Ensign Universal, 1 Lieutenant Commander Universal
+10 Power to Weapons, +5 Power to Shields, +5 Power to Auxiliary
Advanced Quantum Slipstream Drive (doubles standard Slipstream Drive time)
Console – Universal – Aquarius Escort

So, next lets go over the benefits and stats of each console and what they do.

Console – Universal – Chevron Separation
Crew Capacity set to 1,000
-5% Shield HP
-15% Hull HP
+10% Impulse Speed
+8 Turn Rate
+10 Weapon Power
-10 Shield Power
-10 Aux. Power
4 Minute Cool down

Console – Universal – Work Bees
Deploy 4 Work Bees
Launches 4 level 51 Work Bees: Each Bee repairs +303 HP/Sec over 10 seconds.

Console – Universal – Aquarius Escort
Launch Aquarius Escort
Crew Capacity set to 2450
4 Minute Cool down

Now, it should be mentioned that these consoles can be used concurrently, however, some of their powers cannot be used simultaneously.  For instance, you cannot use the Chevron Separation, and the Aquarius Escort simultaneously.  However, you MAY use Work Bee’s with either of the other two powers at the same time.  That being said, equipping all three consoles (only available by purchasing all three ships), gives you a fourth passive ability!  As of the time I wrote this, it was a .50 bonus to turn rate.  There may be other bonuses, but i have not been able to find any.  If more come to light after release, I will update this article with the info!

Now you ask, what is YOUR opinion on the ship?!  My opinion is simple.  As a tactical officer, I’m always looking for ways to do more damage.  I’ve always been a fan of cruisers versus my Defiant, and as such, I usually fly the Excelsior retrofit.  However, after doing extensive testing on Tribble, I think that once this ship is released I will probably switch to it.  With the addition of having a “Tactical Cruiser” option, I am now able to actually have a cruiser that will have some firepower.  Also, with the right Engine / Shield / Deflector set equipped, you can stack quite a bit of +Weapon Power on that, to be able to afford to use all three consoles, and gain the .5 turn rate.  As such, with all three consoles, equipped, and the Aegis set, this ship is VERY formidable.  I was able to have my shield power cranked up, as well as weapon power.  Mobs were MELTING around me.  And, even if you only decide to get one cruiser over the others, I think this is a very nice ship well worth the C-Points.   The Aquarius Escort appears to do some significant damage for being a pet, the Work Bee’s are quite useful, and the Chevron Separation will probably be many captains favorites, because of the damage boost.

In conclusion, I can not WAIT for this new ship to arrive and I will be putting my hard earned stipend of C-Store points to get it.  Just remember, that my view, and testing of this ship is from a tactical stand point.  Everybody is going to get different mileage from this ship, and in the end it all comes down to your personal preferences, and play style.  If you’re not sure you want to plop the C-Store points down, then head over to Tribble and check it out for a couple of days like I did.  Let me know what you think either way.  If / when more information comes out, and its not in this guide, email me at aCe@gamingradio.net and I’ll get it added!

I’m still mainly using my Odyssey. Running all three of the specialized consoles. I seem to do pretty well alternating between the saucer separation, and the escort.
